For Robert Riesmeyer, travel has never been about simply reaching a destination—it has always been about the experiences, the people, and the stories created along the way.

As the Founder and Travel Concierge/Host of Epic Explorations, Robert believes planning a journey should be just as personal as the journey itself. Rather than simply arranging travel, he partners with clients to understand what inspires them, then curates experiences that reflect their interests, goals, and sense of adventure. Whether designing an unforgettable experience, hosting a small group expedition, coordinating an executive retreat, creating an incentive travel program, or planning a memorable customer appreciation event, Robert approaches every experience with creativity, purpose, and meticulous attention to detail.
Growing up in the Midwest instilled in Robert the values of authenticity, hard work, and genuine hospitality. After a successful career in the insurance industry, he chose to pursue his lifelong passion for exploration by creating Epic Explorations—a company built on the belief that exceptional travel isn’t measured by miles traveled, but by the connections made and the memories created.
Robert’s commitment to serving others extends well beyond travel. He serves as an Elder at St. Luke Evangelical Free Church and actively supports organizations including Shadow Buddies, Santa America, Operation Breakthrough, and Moving Ahead. Whether serving his church, volunteering in the community, or supporting charitable organizations, he believes the greatest journeys are those that positively impact the lives of others.
During the Christmas season, Robert embraces another cherished role as Santa Claus. More than a character, it is an opportunity to create joy, offer encouragement, and remind children and families that wonder, kindness, and hope are gifts worth sharing throughout the year.
At the heart of everything Robert does is a simple philosophy: travel should be experienced, not checked off a list. Through Epic Explorations, he invites travelers, businesses, and organizations to discover the world through thoughtfully curated experiences that foster deeper connections, inspire curiosity, strengthen relationships, and create stories that will be shared for generations.
